During this project we had to create a magazine based on ourselves and how we want people to see us in the near future. For example, if you wanted to be a famous skater or a famous singer you can make it look like you are doing your profession while being on a magazine cover. We were told to take a photograph of ourselves doing a pose of whatever choice or just act normal. You can change the way you look and better explain your profession by making a cool pose. At first we had to learn how to use most tools in the Photoshop. It took us a couple of days but I got the hang of it and got to work!
My cover is of me becoming a famous parkourist. I made it look like people doing parkour in the background and me standing against the wall looking down (mysterious) I did several things to make it look real. I put a tattoo on my right arm to make it look like I am a little bit older. My title has a street theme to it so it would compare to the cover a little more. I didn’t want it to look boring so put a night sky to make it pop more because it was originally cloudy and it didn’t look right.
I was trying to show that parkour is a really fun sport and you can be famous for it. Parkour is more of an independent sport. Pushing yourself to the limits and no distractions. I made myself look separated from the other guys to prove that and I was looking down to show I am a serious person. I made myself bigger than the others obviously because I was the main person and I put the blue glow around trying to amplify it more.
I think I deserved everything I got in my grade rubric. I included a lot of different types of tools and also I was creative with it and made it less boring. I think I could of improved on adding more items to this to make it more exciting.I started out with a boring piece of white paper and made it into a cool creation of my own.
